So I don't know about you, but I think that how science is advancing is sort of ironic. It is advancing making it easier on man kind, yes? But at the cost of making mankind pay more and make less. My friend is writing a book on how robots will effect the economy in a negative aspect, but he had made some valid points to me. 1) As technology increases, you are gonna build machines and robots to do the simple tasks, so that makes the lower income/under-educated society unemployed. 2) If unemployment reaches a certain point then this can cause an increase in petty theft also causing prices to rise to account for missing food. 3) if crime were to increase then things such as prison costs would increase. This can overall make the cost of living skyrocket in certain places. Now that is just a basic look, we haven't taken into account the cost of metals, fuel (unless you can make them run like Bender in Futurama and run on alcohol) maintaince and other factors required to make a valid point more valid. So I truely wonder if robots will ever become more advanced than say ASIMO, but it could mean a violent world.
